Every Girl Dreams...

Today I went with my friend Genevieve and our moms to the Wedding Expo. Neither of us are getting married but we got free tickets so we went...and got some free stuff. :) Yummy soap and bath salts and magazines and such to goo gah over. And oh so many bites of cake! I wonder how much cake I ate all together.

Oh, and I've decided something recently. I love Tiffany's.

"...the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name!"

-Holly Golightly, Breakfast at Tiffany's

And...I'm in love with Blink Photography.

Little Chanchos Back in Action

I've just re-opened my Etsy shop Little Chanchos. I'm in a beachy surfing mood lately so I've just made a bunch of fresh jewelry from bamboo string and shell and glass beads.
Go check it out!
I've got tons more ideas in me head, just waitin' to burst forth. :) Keep checking back.
And my historic costume shop is still there. You can check it out HERE.

Ready for Summer

I can't wait for all of the above. :)

Oh Happy Day...

It's been one of those days...the kind where everything gets on your nerves, nothing goes the way it's supposed to, and you just want to throw something across the room. I haven't thrown anything yet though, so I guess I'm doing pretty good. :)

Anyway...ironically I was going through my music for something that wouldn't get on my nerves and landed on Tim Hughes. I only have one Tim Hughes song though and guess what it's called?

Happy Day :)

Anyway...that kind of made me rethink my mood by reminding me life's a lot bigger than just me. That's actually such a relief to be reminded of now and again. I mean, if all the world counted on me having it together every minute, I think I'd be in more than a bad mood.

So while I was hunting for that video to show you, I ran across this one, which I just found encouraging. I stinkin' love Tim Hughes. I went to a couple of his seminars at Soul Survivor last Summer and was just so encouraged by his heart for worshiping God and serving people.

I was thrilled recently when I discovered you can buy mp3 downloads of the seminars on Soul Survivor's website! I bought one a couple weeks ago...love it. I might buy another one tonight.

Anyway...I hope you all are having a "happy day" and remembering who we belong to and where we're going!

Who?

Hello all my friends...I have to tell you about some new friends, Professor Flimmeny Woo and Morgandy the Robin. Go visit them at Pretty Wit. I could just eat them up!
And don't forget Alec the Awesome. He's just so cool. :)
Go to the Shop and read their descriptions. They've got personalities you wouldn't believe. I'm just in love with them. :)

It's Good to be a Girl

I know it's just shampoo, a toothbrush, facial toner, and shower gel, but it's new and it feels good to bring something new home, even if it's just something I needed.
And I did splurge on a In Style magazine. I had to....Kate was on the cover! ;) (I deserved it for cutting back and buying cheaper, unhealthy bath stuff. Burt's Bees just isn't in my budget these days)
Anyway...I haven't been shopping since I was in London. I forgot how much I don't really like trying clothes on and how much I love it when they actually look cute.
I didn't do any sewing like I said I was going to. *shame* But I'll have all day tomorrow to sew. I promise I will. I really need to get serious about my Etsy shop. For real.

Random Wordage

Hello. :)

So, I'm really sorry I haven't posted hardly at all lately. I feel so lame. Our Internet hasn't been very cooperative and I've had a cold. The former supposedly is to be fixed this week. (huzzah!)

But I have been thinking about blogging. I keep wishing I had something really clever to say or something beautiful to show you. But alas, I haven't taken many pictures lately and my mind has been quite dull. Well, that's not entirely true. I've been endlessly daydreaming of Duchess gowns. It's my new obsession. Or at least it was until my dearie girls gave me two patterns from Sense and Sensibility last night as a belated birthday present. Now I'm all about Persuasion. I want to make one of Anne's gowns (the blue one) and her amazing military inspired pelisse. And now...I even want to read the book again. I blame them entirely. ;) I think, if I'm feeling up to it tomorrow, I shall sew. But that's what I said I was going to do today and I ended up only laying on the couch watching Disney films and eating crackers. hee hee I felt like a little kid. But you know...I may as well, the only time I don't feel guilty for this is when I'm sick so I may as well enjoy it, right? :)
We had our movie night last night and watched The Patriot and I almost finished all the eyelets on one half of my Elizabeth Swann corset. I'm loving it. Except it's taking too long because I already have three more corsets planned out.
You should see my bed right now. Piled all around me are heaps of fabric with papers pinned to them telling me what I want to use it for. I have patterns everywhere, sketchbooks, notebooks. A pot of (jasmine green) tea is on top of my wardrobe as there's no other clear surface for it. (and I really think it's safest up there) I feel like Professor Bhaer from Little Women only I have fabric and patterns everywhere instead of books. Ah, well...it's good to be inspired I suppose.

Well, I ought to be off to bed. I'm not saying anything of great importance anyway. But I like writing so hopefully you all don't mind. And even if you do, I guess it doesn't matter. haha Because this is my place to talk. ;)

Well, goodnight to those of you with the courage great enough to make it through this long and random post. I respect you greatly. :)

My Birthday :)

I had a wonderful birthday. :) We just spent the day watching movies and drinking tea. It was quite lovely.
We watched Ladies in Lavender as it's filmed in Cornwall, England. I love this film. It made me a bit homesick but it was good to hear a proper Cornish accent again and watch them have tea and toast and pasties. :)
My favorite album at the moment I think is Hillsong's This is Our God. I love it so much. Could have something to do with the fact that that's pretty much everything we sang at Soul Survivor. Lots of memories behind those songs. But they are pretty awesome songs. :) Love it. My sister gave me an iTunes gift card for my birthday...I'm thinking of buying most of this album with it. But I might want some Tim Hughes too....oh, I don't know! :)

I bought myself a box of tea for my birthday with my World Market gift card my brother got me for Christmas. I LOVE this stuff...but it always gives me the jitters as it's pretty high in caffeine. But...I really really do love it.
Because Gen is the coolest...she got me a hot water bottle and made me the coziest fleece cover for it. She knows me well. :D I fell in love with hot water bottles last Christmas while I was staying in England. Auntie Ann would fill one up for me every night and it was the most comforting thing. :)
And she gave me the coolest book ever....
It inspires me! I love it. :)
My brother gave me Persuasion on DVD and my sister gave me candles and bubble bath and hand cream from a British cosmetic line.
Hmmm....kinda funny everything seems to revolve around England. I know I probably talk about it way too much all the time. I miss it so much. I'm slowly learning to get involved where I'm at. But one day I'll go back. I'll see the rugged coastlines and cobbled streets again and give and get warm hugs from friends and family.
In the meantime, I'll enjoy the friends and family I have here. :)

Bride Wars

My sister took me to see Bride Wars for my birthday and um...yeah, it's pretty much the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Kate Hudson never fails to make me laugh.
So....get your girlfriends together and go see it, okay? :)

Then tell me what you think. ;)
