Movie Night

Tonight for movie night (complete with pizza) we watched Benny and Joon....
I love this movie!

Sam: You don't like raisins?
Joon: Not really.
Sam: Why?
Joon: They used to be fat and juicy and now they're twisted. They had their lives stolen. Well, they taste sweet, but really they're just humiliated grapes. I can't say I am a big supporter of the raisin council.
Sam: Did you see those, those raisins on TV? The ones that sing and dance and stuff?
Joon: They scare me.
Sam: Yeah me too
Joon: It's sick. The commercial people they make them sing and dance so people will eat them.
Sam: It's a shame about raisins.
Joon: Cannibals.
Sam: Yeah.

One of my favorite Johnny Depp films. :)

Organizing my Blogs

I've finally made a decision about my blogs, they've been a bit unorganized and confusing so I've decided to keep you from guessing where to go for what, I'm not going to post about sewing on this blog anymore. I'm going to keep all my sewing and anything I make to wear will belong on The Art of Clothes. Pemberley Couture will only be finished historic costumes or replicas from movie costumes, and this blog will be for all my random thoughts and a collection of photos I take through out my adventures. This blog shall be more like a journal.
So, that's my thoughts for the moment on my new blogging plan. Hope it makes things easier for you. I've just added links to my other blogs now as well so they will be easier to visit. I'm slowly getting things together!

Fabric and Buttons :)

Yes, I probably spent more money than I should have at JoAnn's Columbus Day Sale. BUT, it all has a purpose and it's all to sell. So, I wont feel guilty. :)

I found some really wonderful buttons:

And I got a stack o fabric (don't even bring up the stack of fabric I already have!). The top four are knit fabric and then a fun Fall patchwork plaid and some denim.I think I'll keep it a secret what I'm making from them all until they are finished so it will be a suprise. I'm going to start sewing today though...as soon as my fabric is done being washed.

Lord of the Rings Marathon

Yesterday my friends and I had a Lord of the Rings marathon...which is always fun but a bit exhausting. :P
But...I got lots of sewing done and got quite a ways on my Elizabeth Swann corset. I'm also super inspired now for new costume ideas. (Arwen's Chase dress and Faramir's costume are on my list at the moment)
This time watching Lord of the Rings I decided Faramir and Eowyn are the coolest. (I have the right to have different favorites every time I watch it)

But of course Sam is still my favorite too.

And I decided Rosie Cotton is really cute and I love her clothes.

Anyway...I love these movies and I would love to post a million pictures of all my favorite characters and costumes...but I shall save it for when I'm actually making the costumes.

Speaking of costumes...if you want to see what I've been up to lately check out my costume blog.

Anyway...yeah...I'm so inspired now. :)

The Weekend

I spent the weekend with Becks, housesitting for some friends of ours...it was really fun. :)

We watched Planet Earth every night...which is AMAZING...but can be scary when one leaves me to drift off to dream land and I'm left alone watching sharks and other creepy sea creatures alone. Somehow it's scary when your alone.
Saturday Beckah made and amazing breakfast:
Mmmm...pancakes and bacon and cream of wheat and orange juice.
And Maple Syrup!
We enjoyed Jenny's piano. :)
After breakfast, a walk, hot tub, and a shower Beckah made lunch:

Isn't she awesome?

And I made chocolate chip cookies!

Then we watched more movies, Fool's Gold...Phantom of the Opera (which makes me weep)
Sunday my family came over and we watched Wives and Daughters.
Aimee trying to sneak up on us:

Then while out feeding the cows we decided to have a photo shoot:

And that was my weekend. It was wonderful. :)

Movie Night & Toadstool Cupcakes

I have quite a bit of catching up to do as I have loads of pictures to share from the whole weekend. But I'll start with Thursday night our weekly movie night with the Delery's.
We watched Iron Man and I made cupcakes...

I had to take pictures so you would believe me, since I don't normally voluntarily cook or bake anything.

Vincent Van Gogh said..

"If you hear a voice within you say "you cannot paint," then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced."

"One must work and dare if one really wants to live."

"I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day."

"The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore."

"What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?"
