Moving...

Hello lovely friends and followers! I'm moving this blog over to a new fresh home which can now be found at www.simple-thread.blogspot.com . I'm hoping to get back to blogging often over there but I'm probably going to delete my Pemberley Couture blog. I will keep The Art of Clothes. I just needed to consolidate and not have so many different things going on so Simple Thread will be my main blog and The Art of Clothes will be where I continue to talk about movie costumes and fashion.

Lately...

I kinda want red hair...

Peapod Green

Becks and I painted part of our room today. We finally decided on a green. I fell in love with green after seeing this picture:
So we started with this:

Splashed on some color...

And now we have green walls. Don't worry, the red door frame will be painted cream. :)

The color is a bit darker and not so neon in person. I think it's going to look great once we get all the furniture and shelves up in there! :)

Borrowed

The library is basically the best thing ever invented. How good is it to come home after a long day of work and errands with a pile of books to look through and get inspired? It's bliss. I need to finish the projects I'm working on so I can make some of these.
I'm also smitten with these elephants on The Purl Bee. I have the book for the knitted one on hold at the library and I think I have the pattern for the sewn one. Seriously. SO cute.

Valentines Day

Valentines weekend was pretty busy as we had a big Valentines Tea Party for almost 30 ladies in the afternoon and a couples tea for 6 couples that evening. It was fun but I'm really full and tired.
Oh and...daddy gave us these for Valentines Day:

Oh my stinkin goodness...and he even dug through to find the boxes with Edward on them. (he knows us well...)

It's hard to eat them...I just like reading them. And some of them even *sparkle*. haha Am I cheesy or what?

Belle's

Guess what Belle had for me today:
Yup...more doily thread! Well, I'll take it. I also borrowed a bunch of doily patterns from her to copy...so I will have plenty to do in the evenings. :)
Here is the progress on my black doily:

I'm almost out of thread and there are supposed to be 10 more rows so I'm either going to do one more round, making up a finish or else add a color to the outside. I think I'll probably just make up a finish. I'm not sure how I could like color on it. But you never know...might be cool. :)

Anyway...hope your all having a lovely Wednesday...I'm off to do some tidying up and then mum and I are having a girl's night.

Last week my mom and I went to our friend Belle's house to visit and crochet like we try to go do with her every week. I love going to see her because she inspires me so much and she's such a sweetheart and we always have tea and fig newton's. The past several times I've gone I've taken my knitting but last week I thought I'd try and use up some of my doily thread and make some doilies. So this is the problem. Belle saw that I was crocheting with smaller thread and it reminded her she had a whole box of small thread she didn't like to use and she gave it to me. Oh the irritating bliss. Because I couldn't say no. I mean look at how beautiful they are...
So I'm going to be making a lot of doilies. But I think I'm strangely okay with that.

The Oregon Ducks may not have won the Rose Bowl...but this still makes me laugh...ah, Taylor Lautner...SNL is your calling...

and this is just so freakin' hilarious. :)

If you love SNL you should check out the rest of Taylor Lautner hosting....it's pretty funny. It is rated TV14 so some of them might have some inappropriate content...just to warn you. My favorites though are 'Lab Partners' and 'Show Choir'....and actually all the ones that Taylor Lautner is in. Who knew he could be so funny? :)

Making order

I feel like I have a million piles like that to go through right now. Random stuff, notebooks, papers, magazines. I'm just taking one at a time. Simplify, simplify, simplify. That's my motto.
