Our Shoebox of an Apartment...:)

We found an apartment! Heather and I are moving in on Wednesday! So exciting. :)
Here is a picture of the kitchen:
If you stand looking opposite the kitchen this is what you see:
Our dining/living area. :)

Bedroom:Bathroom:
That's it! It's sooo tiny! But big enough to have Bible studies and girls nights which is a HUGE blessing! It's also a great location that's easy for people to get to us. I'm really excited to see how God can use our new location. :)

Seagulls and Fish n' Chips

Seagulls....such innocent little birds. They always made me happy, they made me think of the sea...I never had one evil thought that I can remember toward a seagull. I now must renew my thinking and give warning to my fellow friends...seagulls in Cornwall are DANGEROUS.

Last week my flat mate and I were in town during the lunch hour so we thought we'd grab some yummy fish n' chips. I've been craving fish and chips since...well, long before my plane landed on English soil. So, I was quite excited and then we had the lovely thought to head down and enjoy them by the water on the harbor.

As we sat and enjoyed our wonderful meal...these fat cheeky little seagulls came creeping up to us. I didn't feel comfortable seeing how comfortable they were...but we coninued eating. Next thing I know there's a horrid flapping above my head and then a seagull dives at my lap. My fish was gone. *sigh* Such a lovely piece of fish. Cheeky seagulls. :P

All the locals were looking at me like I was crazy and I have since learned it's a very rookie thing to do, eat any kind of food on the harbor. But we all learn some way, don't we?

So, I am now passing on the word to all of you...so that you wont have the same sad experience I did.

I'm also thinking there ought to be a sign there that says: "WARNING: SEAGULLS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO ATTACK WHEN FOOD IS IN HAND"

Happy Birthday Oasis Cornwall!

Celebrating 1 year:
We had an amzing worship service and an incredible turn out of young people which was really exciting.

Isaac made amazing burgers:
We had to say goodbye to a couple of our University girls, Sam and Grace. :(
Sam, Grace and Belinda:

But we'll get to see them again in September/October!

It was an amazing evening. I really felt God's presence in the room and it was such a joyful celebration.

Decorating....

Yesterday we had a big celabration as it is Oasis Cornwall's 1 year birthday. We all got there early and decorated.

The girls all made really cool posters:

Boating...

I've found my favorite thing in the world.....being out on a boat. I think I could live on one. :)

Luke, chilling in the dingy:
Heather and I soaking up the sun: (a bit too much as we're both really sun burnt now)
The water was amazing!
I want to buy this big rock and live on it...;)
We've been taking advantage of the amazing Cornish weather and spending lots of time boating.

Other updates:
We've been getting to know some of the young women which has been awesome. We're hoping to start up a women's Bible study next week as well as plan other things to do with the girls. It's been fun building friendships with them. Last night we went Cornish dancing with a few of them. That was awesome! :)

Enjoying Very Fine Weather

I'm safely here! The flight went well and other than feeling very ill for most of it (I'm not much of a flyer) everything went smoothly. I was starving after I got off the of the plain as I hadn't eaten in 12 hours so I was really excited to get some breakfast after I got through customs, however I got held up at the UK boarder. They didn't want to let me in the country and held me up for three hours while they went through my luggage and contacted people to make sure I was doing what I said I was. I guess I wasn't too much of a threat because they finally let me in. Yay! I met my friend Amy at Paddington station and had a lovely banana and a sandwhich. Ah, such bliss. :)

Then we dumped my luggage off at her house and road about London and went to her home group that night which was all loads of fun. It was pouring rain the whole time we were walking about so I was so thankful for buying a raincoat before I left. I think it was my wisest investment besides a plain ticket! :)

The next day I road the train down to Cornwall and later that night Heather arrived as well. It's been great getting to know her. :)

We've had gorgeous weather here these past few days. It's amazing!

The Journey Begins...

We drove up to Portland on Friday to see my aunt Debbie and uncle Bill before I leave for England.

We had an adventure in their moterhome...
We drove it to Dairy Queen:
Not sure we should trust dad with the ice cream?

Then we drove to the Oregon City falls to eat it:

We had some really good times with them.

On Saturday we drove up to see my sister Aimee in Seattle.

I thought this sign was funny:

We went down to see the troll under the bridge...the pictures of Aimee and I on his shoulders are on another camera so I wasn't able to upload them. But how cool is he? Check out the VW under his hand!

Lots of snails in Seattle:

Last night Aimee and I went for a walk to the beach...we had to go down so many stairs! Going back up was the miserable part.

Ah....but it was worth it! Such a beautiful sunset! If these were palm trees it almost looks like Hawaii. :)

I leave for London in the morning! I'll try to update as often as I can. :)
