Christmas gifts so far...

Yesterday our sewing group had a gift exchange. I had drawn Daisy's name so I made her this basket/bag out of some stiff yarn:
And this little owly cuff:

I was trying to be Christmasy with the green and the red eyes. I hope the owls don't look too evil. ;)
Then last night I went to Wal-Mart with Becks and we wandered around looking for something we "needed". I got this:
I know, it's BLACK. heehee It was only 97 cents though and I always wanted to wear black nail polish. Besides, it's not so emo anymore...it's becoming quite classy. (at least I think it can be) So I will have fun with it. :) I think it would be fun to use in a black and white photo shoot.
Now I'm off to get some laundry done and finish up the rest of my Christmas gifts....

Business

Today I had a busy day with lots of yard work and then a trip to town for coffee with my good friend who's here from London. It was so good to see her!
I splurged and bought some fabric to make bags for my Etsy shop and came home and washed them and hung it out to dry. Then spent the rest of the evening crying while watching '50 First Dates' (can anyone else keep a dry eye in that film or am I just emotional?) and cutting out the bags. Hopefully I will sew them together tomorrow and have them in my shop soon!
I've gotten a little ways on my sewing room organizing but not enough to post about yet. I will soon though! (hopefully!) ;)

Writing

There's something about a leather bound book with blank pages in it that makes me feel like a real writer. I've always loved writing stories but I've never considered myself a true writer. But I was thinking the other day, one doesn't have to be a "good" writer to be a writer, right? ;) So I guess I can add that to my list of many hobbies.

I found this amazing journal on Etsy from lapaperie:
I'd so love to fill that with my silly writing.
I ran across these pages on the internet:

Now if I could make the inside of my notebooks look like that...I wouldn't care what I wrote. ;)
I just started a new story last night after a two year neglect from my writing. It feels so good to be back in my imagination for a while. :)

Little Chanchos Back in Action

I've just re-opened my Etsy shop Little Chanchos. I'm in a beachy surfing mood lately so I've just made a bunch of fresh jewelry from bamboo string and shell and glass beads.
Go check it out!
I've got tons more ideas in me head, just waitin' to burst forth. :) Keep checking back.
And my historic costume shop is still there. You can check it out HERE.

Flurries and Gift Giving

It's been snowing like mad the past few days. I'll confess...it's pretty. But it's sooo cold! I've been staying inside, which you'd think would give me more time to finish Christmas presents. but alas...I'm so behind.
However...here is one I finished and already gave away. YES! I'm almost on top of it! :D
I made a journal "junk book" for a friend who loves 'The Office' and tropical places.
Hee hee....scary, I know:
Then this is the back:
I scribbled/doodled all over it which was fun. haha
Now I must be off to work on the rest of the presents and clean my room.
I can't believe what a slob I've become lately. No order whatsoever...*sigh*. It drives me crazy. Normally I'm such a neat freak. Oh well, it was good to have a slob faze...but now it must end.
Don't forget to sign up for the Givaway if you haven't already!
Happy Christmas!

Tina the Turtle

Yesterday mom had her Christmas tea and we did a little sale in the corner of the room so I emptied my shop and put my things there for the afternoon.
The only thing that I sold was my dear little turtle friend...
I originaly had though he was a boy but the little girl who bought him declared "It's a girl and her name is Tina."
So there you have it. :) Tina the turle has found a home at last.

I think I need to make more of these little guys. Or...*ehem* gals. ;)
