New Items in the Shop. :)
I've been sewing like crazy lately to put stuff in my shop to sell since I'll be heading out to England in a couple months (Lord willing).
Two new aprons and another hot pad in the shop.

A Bit More Splurging...
I stopped by JoAnn's yesterday to check out their Red Tag Sale and found some wonderful deals. :D I did make a rule for myself that I had to know exacly what I was using the fabric for and buy only enough for that. I also had to keep it under control...not get more fabric than I will be able to use up quickly.
And of course with all this new fabric I had to buy a few new spools of thread. :)

Regency Inspired Blouse
My first use of my new pink fabric! I was inspired to make this blouse by this creation. I used the Sense and Sensibility Regency Gown Pattern as a base and then added tucks, changed the sleeves and shortened it.

Grandmother's Flowergarden Hot Pad
I had an old tie from something like a dress that was the cutest red and white polka dot fabric and I took it apart and made it into this hot pad. :)
I hand pieced, hand quilted, and did a blanket stitch around the edge. My fingers are a bit sore as I still haven't mastered using a thimble!
I'm pretty thrilled with how it turned out. I'll be putting it in my etsy shop soon.

My Splurge...
Today I had to stop at JoAnn's to pick up some notions and I just thought I'd check and see if they still had this fabric I have been wanting for a long time. They did! And the best of it is...it was on sale. :D So, I caved and bought it.
Isn't it darling?
I got almost seven yards of it so there's plenty to make something for myself and maybe something to sell in my etsy shop. :)
I'm not sure what I'll make...maybe aprons? :)

Another Birthday Present :)
I finally finished this quilt I made for my friend in England's 17th birthday last week.
It's in the mail on the way to him right now. I hope he likes it! :)
His favorite color is blue. :)
The pattern is called "broken dishes". It was used during the Civil War for the underground railroad. They would hang a quilt out on a fence to let the travelers know if it was safe for them or not. This pattern means "unsafe house".
