Sew Organized?

I wish I could say my sewing space was as neat and inspiring as this:
But alas...it's a monstrous mess at the moment that's enough to quench my mood for sewing any day. An intervention is in process. :) I'm going to tackle a corner of it tonight and maybe a little more next week until it's finished. I'm taking before pictures but you'll have to wait to see them until I have the after pics ready. They're too shocking with out the refreshing clean picture afterwards.
Wish me luck! I hope I make it out alive! ;)

Beckah's Birthday :)

Last week we finally celebrated my friend Beckah's birthday...(her birthday was in April) and had a Wallace and Gromit marathon. Wahoo! They're the best. :)

We also had a crazy hailstorm and me being even crazier than the weather...I had to go out in it and get a bowl full of hail to eat...which might be bad for you but I love it too much to care. ;)

And of course you can't watch Wallace and Gromit with out tea with milk. Or cream...as we Americans use.
Most important is the CHEESE. :) "We've forgotten the crackers Gromit!"
And then of course...birthday brownies with ice cream and a big 'ol candle. :)

Back to Blogging

Reading all the amazing posts my friend AnnaMae has done lately has made me realize how much I miss blogging. I blog quite often on my sewing blog but I really miss thoughtful blogging about everyday life and deep and meaningful things. So, I'm going to attempt to get back into it. I've also been inspired by AnnaMae to do some deep organizing so get ready for some posts about that. :)

We've been having so much rain lately. I really love it...even though it means the laundry must be hung inside to dry. (there's a dryer epidemic going around in our neighborhood...it seems everyone's dryer is breaking)
I just love the fresh smell of rain and how clean the air feels after a rainstorm.
I pulled out my umbrella the other day so I could take some photos. I think it was happy to be wet again.
Today we spent a long day in town and I was more than happy to return home with a movie from the library and my new Real Simple magazine came in the mail. I also picked up a Thesaurus from the dollar store. Can't tell you how much I love it. So many awesome words in there. Which I just may need if I keep my promise and start blogging again. ;)

Writing

There's something about a leather bound book with blank pages in it that makes me feel like a real writer. I've always loved writing stories but I've never considered myself a true writer. But I was thinking the other day, one doesn't have to be a "good" writer to be a writer, right? ;) So I guess I can add that to my list of many hobbies.

I found this amazing journal on Etsy from lapaperie:
I'd so love to fill that with my silly writing.
I ran across these pages on the internet:

Now if I could make the inside of my notebooks look like that...I wouldn't care what I wrote. ;)
I just started a new story last night after a two year neglect from my writing. It feels so good to be back in my imagination for a while. :)

BBC Robin Hood

Where have I been lately? Watching these:

I'm addicted. :P
But they're great for getting lots of hand sewing projects done. I can't wait for Season 3 to come to the US. I've been watching as many episodes as I can on YouTube.
They have a new costume designer for this season so it's a whole new look. Looks like a lot more leather, which is awesome!
And there's some new characters, which I'm excited about.
Kate, from Locksley. I'll admit I wasn't to excited about her at first but after watching a few episodes with her in it I'm warming up to her! :) I think she and Alan-a-Dale would make a good couple. But I have a feeling that's not the way it's going to end up. We'll just have to see. :P

I'm super excited and can't wait for Isabella, Sir Guy of Gisbourne's sister to come into the show. Should be interesting! :)

And finally! Friar Tuck joins the cast...he's pretty awesome. :)

Anyway...apologies to all of you who could care less about my Robin Hood obsession at the moment. I just can't help myself. :)

These Days

I'm all about books on tape. They are so much nicer than movies while your sewing because you don't have to watch! :) My favorite of late has been James and the Giant Peach. My favorite is the Centipede! :D

I'm also all about designing my own wardrobe. I think it's the downside of being a seamstress, you start to be more picky about clothes because you would like this sleeve with that cuff and those buttons...So, I'm going to TRY and make myself make me some clothes, and not sell them. haha I have a bad habit of selling everything. But that's good too, right?

And...I'm all about washing with baking soda...

I put about a 1/4 cup in every load of laundry along with the soap and everything comes out so fresh and clean! I'm a bit obsessed with it. :)

So anyways...I've been sewing, cleaning, and today I even made gingerbread! It almost feels like Spring today as the sunshine has come out and there's some tulips or something popping up in the garden. Yay. :)

Random

I haven't been posting much at all lately because I've been so busy sewing and my laptop seems to have some sort of illness where it falls asleep with out any warning. So now when I have a moment to post....I have no idea what to post about. So I uploaded this really random picture I took a few weeks ago of all the stuff laying on my bed. I lined it up and took a picture...because I'm weird that way. ;)
So, as a sort of a game...can you guess the one thing in the picture above that I don't like very much? haha

1. Watch
2. Leafy Ring from London
3. Cell Phone
4. Spotty Wallet
5. Kate and Leopold
6. Boots Hand Cream

Random...I know. I think I should get back to my sewing and not post again until I have something clever to say.
